Feline Comparison: Huge by sindos Feline Comparison: Huge by sindos
EDIT Considering how popular this image is, I know you, fellow cat artist might be interested in a Feline Art Challenge game I will be opening by the beginning of June, check it out!
:icontherooibosmark: /EDIT

So, Big Cats are alike, but they have differences appart from their spots, stripes and manes, I wanted to have a big file for future reference, and I can share.
I wanted more or less alike poses and views. Some are, some failed, and some I didn't even find.

Now, if you are the owner of the picture and want it out, let me know. If you know about a pic to fill out the blanks or one that would fit better among the others, let me know.

this is extremely helpful and i will definitely use this in the future. thank you so much!

i can't help but notice how different the cheetah's body is compared to other felines - in a way they almost (almost!) look dog-like.

This is a great reference, especially the comparison of the faces (particularly between the leopard and the jaguar - as they look very similar at a distance)!

Thanks for putting it together =)

Full grown African Lion (not domesticated nor held in captivity) VS Tiger (not domiscated nor held in captivity)=The African Lion wins :D

Lions and Tigers who are domestically in captivity look more like depreived 3rd world people ignored by the United Nations, they are completly depressed, and malnourished

Wow I love these comparisons important to document sub species as I am sure many go extinct whithout realisation. I am doing illustrations for Rudyard Kiplings how the leopard got its spots. Changing the text slightly so that can explain how they are prosecuted and rare and tieing it to the black tear shapes around the eyes and the beautiful skin camoflage can you please direct me to some stock photos of leopards hunting.

Hi there 40days!
Thank you, yes, there's not enough knowledge around about the different subspecies of… well, most species! it's interesting to discover ans to share c: let's hope we can do something by making them a little more famous.
I've never read that book, it's nice you got to work on it!
Sadly I cannot lend you a hand, I am quite swamped with things to do myself. I can recommend you to search on here: search.creativecommons.org

In the item of lynx, the first and the secord pic represent Lynx lynx, but the third shows a Lynx canadensis.
they are different Species~

Black panthers aren't different species. They are either melanistic jaguars or melanistic leopards.
